Separating the applicators from the eye drop systems is one of the labour-intensive steps in the production of serum eye drops. In practice, this is usually done manually with mobile welding guns or table-top equipment. In order to minimise the time required for this step, we have developed a welding device in which the welding is largely automated. The applicators, which are prefabricated on the blister strips, are placed on a rail and, controlled by a motor, are successively guided over two welding heads. The rails are designed in such a way that a complete ATS36 can be welded in one operation. If only very limited space is available in the processing area, short rails for 1 - 2 blister strips can also be used.
